Our Process

From Source to Site

01

Acquire

We source lumber through direct purchases from homeowners, salvage contracts with demolition companies, and partnerships with construction firms managing waste streams.

02

Inspect & Grade

Every board is evaluated for structural integrity, species identification, moisture content, and cosmetic quality. We follow NHLA grading standards to ensure consistency.

03

Process

Lumber is de-nailed, milled to dimension, planed, and kiln dried as needed. Custom profiles, surfacing, and edge treatments are available on request.

04

Deliver

Finished material is stored in our covered yard or delivered directly to your job site via our fleet of flatbed and stake-bed trucks across the Treasure Valley.

The Advantage

Why One Vendor Beats Five

Most lumber projects involve multiple vendors — one to source the wood, another to mill it, a third to dry it, and a fourth to deliver it. Each handoff adds cost, delay, and the risk of miscommunication. Dimensions get lost in translation. Moisture content assumptions differ between the mill and the kiln operator. Delivery windows slip because the transporter doesn't know when the processing will finish.

At Boise Lumber, every step happens in one place. When you place an order, the same team that grades the material runs it through the planer, loads it into the kiln, and puts it on the truck. Your specifications travel with the wood from intake to delivery — no telephone game, no finger-pointing, no surprises.

This vertical integration also means faster turnaround. A project that might take three weeks coordinating between separate vendors can often be completed in seven to ten days through our facility. For contractors working against punch-list deadlines, that difference is the difference between on-time and over-budget.

Single Point of Contact

One email, one invoice, one team accountable for the entire order.

Faster Turnaround

No handoff delays between vendors — processing starts the same day material is graded.

Consistent Quality

The same grading standards apply from intake through milling, drying, and delivery.

Lower Total Cost

Eliminating vendor markups and transport between facilities saves 15–25% on most orders.

Sustainability Chain of Custody

We track every board from source to sale — you know exactly where your wood came from.
