Products
Questions about our lumber products, species, and availability.
We carry two main categories: reclaimed lumber and new lumber. Our reclaimed inventory includes barn wood, structural timbers, vintage flooring, weathered siding, and character-grade planks salvaged from demolitions and renovations across Idaho. Our new lumber line includes responsibly sourced dimensional framing, specialty species hardwoods, and rough-sawn softwoods. We also stock hardware, fasteners, stains, and finished recycled wood products.
Our reclaimed inventory is dominated by Idaho-native species: Douglas fir, Ponderosa pine, Western red cedar, Idaho white pine, and Western larch. For new lumber, we carry those species plus a range of hardwoods including white oak, red oak, hard maple, black walnut, cherry, ash, hickory, and poplar. Availability of specific species varies — contact us for current stock.
Yes. Our in-house milling facility includes planers, resaws, moulders, and a tongue-and-groove machine. We can take raw timber or reclaimed stock and mill it to any dimension, profile, or finish you need — including custom moulding profiles, shiplap, tongue-and-groove flooring, and beveled siding. Custom milling orders typically take 3-7 business days depending on complexity and volume.
Most of our reclaimed lumber is kiln-dried to below 12-15% moisture content before sale. Kiln drying serves multiple purposes: it stabilizes dimensions, kills any insects or larvae, reduces the risk of mold, and meets ISPM-15 heat treatment standards. If you need air-dried or green reclaimed lumber for a specific application, we may be able to accommodate that — just ask.
Services
Questions about delivery, milling, buying, and selling lumber.
Yes, we deliver throughout the Treasure Valley and across southwestern Idaho — from McCall in the north to Twin Falls in the south, and from Ontario, Oregon to the west to Sun Valley in the east. We operate flatbed trucks, boom trucks for heavy timbers, and smaller vehicles for residential deliveries. Delivery fees depend on distance, load size, and accessibility. For large commercial orders within the Treasure Valley, delivery is often included in the price.
Absolutely. We actively purchase reclaimed and surplus new lumber from demolition projects, renovations, barn teardowns, land clearing, and construction site surplus. We evaluate material based on species, condition, dimensions, and volume. Material needs to be free of rot, excessive splitting, and hazardous coatings (lead paint, creosote, CCA treatment). Nails and minor surface damage are fine — we handle de-nailing and processing in-house. Contact us for a quote or to schedule an on-site evaluation for large lots.
Yes. If you have your own lumber that needs kiln drying, we offer kiln drying as a standalone service. Our kilns can accommodate loads up to 5,000 board feet per cycle. Standard kiln schedules run 5-14 days depending on species, initial moisture content, and target moisture level. We can also provide ISPM-15 heat treatment certification for lumber that needs to meet international shipping standards. Contact us for scheduling and pricing.
Pricing
Questions about how we price lumber and what to expect.
Reclaimed lumber is priced per board foot, based on species, grade (Premium, Select, Character, or Structural), dimensions, and processing level. Generally, reclaimed lumber is priced competitively with new lumber of equivalent quality — and often lower for common softwood species. Premium and character grades of sought-after species (old-growth Douglas fir, reclaimed white oak, antique barn wood) may carry a premium due to limited availability and the labor involved in processing.
Yes. We offer tiered pricing for orders above 500 board feet, with deeper discounts for orders above 1,000 and 5,000 board feet. Commercial and contractor accounts receive volume pricing on all purchases. If you have an ongoing project with regular material needs, we can set up an account with custom pricing. Contact us for a volume quote.
For new dimensional framing lumber, our prices are competitive with the major home improvement chains — and often lower for the same species and grade. Where we really stand out is in specialty lumber, hardwoods, and reclaimed wood — product categories where big-box stores either do not compete or charge significant markups. You also get knowledgeable staff who can advise on species selection, grading, and project planning, which is worth something.
Sustainability
Questions about our environmental practices and the benefits of reclaimed lumber.
Choosing reclaimed lumber provides multiple environmental benefits: it keeps usable material out of landfills (where it would decompose and release methane), reduces demand for virgin timber harvesting, conserves the water and energy required to grow and process new trees, and preserves the embodied carbon already locked in the wood. On average, each board foot of reclaimed lumber saves approximately 5.6 pounds of CO2 emissions, 100 gallons of water, and 3.5 kWh of energy compared to newly harvested lumber. Use our Carbon Savings Calculator to see the specific impact of your project.
In many cases, reclaimed lumber is actually stronger and more dimensionally stable than new lumber. Older timber was typically harvested from old-growth forests with tighter growth rings, higher density, and greater structural integrity. It has also had decades (or centuries) to fully air-dry, resulting in exceptional dimensional stability. All of our reclaimed lumber is inspected and graded before sale, and our Structural Reclaimed grade is specifically evaluated for load-bearing capacity by qualified inspectors.
Our new lumber is sourced from managed forests with documented chain-of-custody practices. We prioritize Pacific Northwest and Idaho mills that follow sustainable harvest plans, including selective cutting, reforestation commitments, and habitat protection. We do not purchase lumber from clear-cut operations, old-growth harvesting, or suppliers who cannot document their sourcing practices.
Nothing goes to waste. Sawdust and planer shavings are collected and sold for animal bedding, garden mulch, and composting. Wood chips and offcuts are chipped and sold as landscape mulch. Metal removed during de-nailing is recycled. Even our kiln heat is generated from waste wood fuel. Our goal — which we have achieved as of 2025 — is to send zero operational waste to landfills.
